The Planning, Analysis, and Outreach (PAO) unit provides services for the CNS director and the rest of CNS, often working in teams with staff from other CNS or IST units. PAO's services typically fall into the following categories:

• analysis of various sorts: financial, customer information, usage data, etc.
• support of long-range planning activities
• project management of some projects that cross CNS unit bounds
• campus outreach and information gathering
